Remember Captain Jack Taylor Aug 26, 1925 – Apr 12, 2024

We lost another good one...
Just learned today that Captain Jack Taylor passed away on April 12. A true 'river rat', Jack spent his life on the river as a towboater, skipper of the Steamer PORTLAND, and a Columbia River Pilot.
He was the driving force behind restoring the Steamer and had been heavily involved with OMM for many years. Jack was 98 years old. He is fondly remembered and will be sorely missed. Yet his legacy remains as the PORTLAND not only survives but continues to steam on the river.
Fair winds and following seas, Jack.
